Thank you for your interest in joining Auricle Productions’ Board of Directors. The board comprises individuals excited to support Auricle Productions’ mission to produce high-quality journalism while bringing their unique skills, background, and experience to the team.
Our Organization
Auricle Productions is a 501(c)(3) independent media organization that produces Threshold, a Peabody Award-winning podcast that tackles one pressing environmental issue each season.
Our current board members are located all around the United States. We encourage you to fill out our form if you’re interested in joining our board, regardless of your geographic location.
Auricle Productions is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and hopes to reflect this internally within the board. This requires a wide range of perspectives and experiences. Position Description
Our board members are the fiduciaries who steer the organization toward a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies. In addition, it requires continuous learning about the audience we serve and being an advocate for the mission, making decisions that are in the organization's best interest, ensuring thoughtful and strategic use of our nonprofit's assets, and looking ahead to help the nonprofit plan for the future.

Qualifications
This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual passionate about our mission. Selected board members will have:
Integrity, strong communication skills, and an interest in collaborating with others
Passion for the journalism created by Auricle Productions and a desire to help the organization advance its mission
Professional experience (we welcome board members from various sectors, including but not limited to journalism, business, government, media, science, philanthropy, nonprofits, education, etc.)
An affinity for cultivating relationships and inspiring others with your passion and commitment to the organizations you believe in
Responsibilities
Support Auricle Productions in its mission to produce high-quality journalism
Serve as a trusted advisor to the organization’s leadership
Provide counsel to the staff in areas of expertise (i.e., legal, marketing, technical, human resources, fundraising, finance)
Participate in strategic planning and organizational development projects
Monitor financials and approve the annual budget
Assist in identifying and recruiting other board members
Serve on committees and take on project assignments
Represent Auricle Productions to stakeholders, including acting as an ambassador for the organization
Ensure the organization’s commitment to ethical journalism practices
Contribute to the organization’s commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion on the staff and board, as well as externally in our audience and developing relationships
Help the organization develop methods for evaluating impact
Promote Auricle Productions programs via professional networks and other means
Service on the Board of Directors is without remuneration, except for administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs corresponding with a Board Member’s duties. Board members sign an annual conflict of interest disclosure form to identify any potential or perceived conflicts associated with their board service.
